Are you looking forward to a vacation whereby you’ll engage in healthy eating and fitness regimen? Well, I recently had the chance to visit my friends in Chiang Mai Thailand, and the experience was splendid. Chiang Mai is known because of its culture, attractive landscape, food, and fitness activities. In fact, some people come to Thailand for their weight loss vacations.

Undoubtedly, the wide variety of exercises you can do here jumpstart your metabolism successfully, leading to weight loss. However, if you want to enjoy Chiang Mai holidays, you need to pack for it. I will use my experience of the time (5 days) I spent there to help you prepare for your fitness holiday in Chiang Mai.

Things You Can Enjoy In Northern Thailand

1. Waterfall Hiking

Walking alongside a spectacular waterfall is relaxing to the mind. Moreover, you lose extra pounds as you enjoy the view of rain forests and the cool breeze flowing from both the forest and waterfall. Fortunately, there are many waterfalls in Chiang Mai, and all you have to do is choose the kilometres you’ll be covering in a day in your hike.

You can do this exercise alone or alongside your friends,(I was lucky I had some friends who joined me) but one thing is constant, you’ll enjoy it. During my stay in Thailand, I enjoyed waterfall hiking, and I have to say it was one of the fantastic adventures I’ve ever had.

2. Hitting a Gym

The good thing about a gym is that it has the equipment necessary to reach your weight goal. Furthermore, you’ll find an engaging trainer to help you with the journey. However, a gym membership fee can be high in some countries. But, you can enjoy a session in one of the gyms in Chiang Mai for 60 Baht.

3. Sunday Walking Street

If you are looking for a vibrant experience, then you can’t miss visiting the Sunday Walking Street. You can enjoy art crafted by hands that you can carry as souvenirs, delicious healthy food, and music. Sunday walking street is a famous lane, and walking along will engage your body to workout. Fortunately, you’ll come across foot massaging services along the streets, whereby you are charged close to nothing.

If you get hungry (I did, the aroma of food is exceptional), you can source your food from the sides of the temples. I also sampled different fresh fruit juices and other foods. You should, too, it’s mouthwatering.

Alternatively, you can join other visitors and citizens during Thai traditional music. Experiencing a different culture and music was fantastic. I danced to the tunes I had no clue what they meant, but I had to, it was unwinding. I hope that you’ll book your trip at the time when these dances are on the season because I understand they don’t occur every weekend.

4. Doi Pui and Doi Suthep

Doi Pui is the highest point of a particular mountain in the west of Chiang Mai and is visible throughout the town. On it, there is a sacred temple known as Doi Suthep. You can access the place by car, motorbike, or songthaew. Consequently, you can enjoy a hike up to the temple. There are other stops along the way to Doi Pui.

For instance, you can visit Flora and Fauna. The park has monkeys, gibbons, wild boar, barking deer, and more than 300 bird species. This adventure will be one of the best ways to keep you active and help losing weight while staying in Thailand because it involves walking through the forest and up a mountain.

What Should You Pack?

There are several things you must have if you want to enjoy your trip to northern Thailand. Some things are a must-have like toiletries. I would advise you to make a list and check as you pack each of your staff in a bag. But remember to carry enough clothes. Alternatively, pack two pairs of tights or jeans and wash after every change. Clothes dry fast in this country, so you don’t need a lot of clothes. Pack as if you’re going to a beach.

How About Security in Thailand?

Well, Thailand is a safe place, and it’s evident by the way business runs even at night. However, it might be tricky for a tourist. However, with some information about avoiding travel scams, you’ll be safe to enjoy your trip. Another secret is to trust your guts. If you feel uncomfortable about something, avoid it, or be wise when dealing with it.

Keeping Fit While on Holiday

Hitting a gym or exercising while on holiday seems impossible because you want to have fun and unwind stress. But a fitness holiday in Chiang Mai is possible and enjoyable. Moreover, you can do it alone or with friends like I did and the costs of most services are friendly. I hope you book your trip soon and enjoy the goodness Thailand offers.
