Hi, I’m Michaela Guzy, founder of the content house, OhThePeopleYouMeet focusing on PEOPLE, PLACES + PURPOSES. We create + produce this exclusive series, “OhThePeopleYouMeet with Michaela Guzy”, which shifts the traditional show model from host to curator, in order to empower our local hosts to share their own stories + promote inclusivity.

I curate REAL PEOPLE who you can actually meet when traversing the globe — including local chefs + winemakers to artists, djs, change makers, Olympian athletes and even the legendary Dr. Jane Goodall. My focus is how to go sustainably + who to know when you are there.

Each episode I will take digital nomads and armchair travelers alike on a journey of a lifetime to immerse themselves in the characters, culture + cuisine that will forever transform your perspective and give a true sense of place.

EPISODE SYNOPSIS:
Skiers and boarders alike, know that the best time to rip and shred in South Lake Tahoe is typically late November – April. I hit the slopes with Olympian hopefuls to perfect my mad skills. I noticed improvement, but I’m not holding out for the next winter games– I’ll leave that to the professionals.

After skiing with the locals, I had no choice but to set out to discover why everyone I met was so attached to this place. The Southern shore of Tahoe is so much more than winter sports! Inspired by the folks at Sierra and Heavenly’s stories, I set out to see what else South Tahoe had to offer.

Much to my delight, I discovered live music around fire pits, local craft brews along a beer trail, a fancy new hotel, folks working to keep Lake Tahoe BLUE and Emma the Bald Eagle.

Did you know that over 2/3rds of South Tahoe’s visitors come May – November for South Tahoe’s hiking and biking trails all along the lake? Locals and travelers hit the beach, the boat shows, SUP and kayak through Emerald Bay.

Through all the colorful locals we meet in this episode, I realized that South Tahoe is so much more than winter destination. Watch the episode to inspire your next adventure.
