In the town of Ika, we met our local host, the General Manager of the celebrity studded Ikador Hotel a Leading Hotels of the World + a Virtuoso property. There are only seven Riva Yacht Destinations in the world and Ikador’s Riva Lounge is on that exclusive list!

Just down the Opatija Riviera you’ll find the iconic Liburnia Hotels and Villas portfolio dotting the coast. The Hotel Ambasador is great anytime of day – for sunrise yoga + a dip in the sea pre-coffee, the pool is “the scene” to be seen and wear expandable pants for the tasting menu + wine pairing at Restaurant Cubo. Opatija is also the jumping off point for several themed cruises on the Adriatic Sea with the locally owned Katarina Line + one of OTPYM’s favorite local hosts!

A short drive or boat ride along the coast, in Rijeka don’t miss fresh seafood from the local fisherman, the farmers market + historic national theatre in the center of town.

The island of Krk has historically been a center of Croatian culture, various literature in the Glagolitic alphabet was created and preserved. Krk is also home to Klančić, the narrowest street in the world. Just across the bridge on the mainland is @gospoja_vrbnik where travelers can discover for themselves why Croatia gives Italy a run for money when it comes to prosciutto, cheese boards, olive oil and wine.
