I’ve had the pleasure of traveling extensively across Africa for the past three years. I’ve always made a point to cover experiences, companies and people who work to support their community and surroundings. This week I learned that one of my experiences unknowingly did not fit my own values to travel sustainably. I wanted to share the problem I encountered and immediately course correct it, so that others can avoid the same pitfalls as myself. As a media member of the Adventure Trade Association, I stand in full agreement with their Values Statement.
