I had the honor to appear on FOX in hometown in St. Louis, MO to share my TREND predictions for the new decade. Here are my TOP 5 “magical moments” to kick off 2020 in a meaningful way:
#1) CONNECTION TO NATURE + SOMETHING GREATER: For our animal lovers that “Awe…moment”: check out famed crocodile hunter, Steve Irwin’s Zoo and Animal Hospital in sunny Queensland, Australia. Where you can find wildlife only found down under. Like kangaroos, koala bears, echidnas, wallabies + wombats. Australian Wildlife Journeys can help you plan your trip. #2) LIFE-CHANGING TRANSFORMATION: For the history + culture buffs, “The WOW I’ve waited my whole life for this moment”: which is literally how I felt watching sunrise in a hot air balloon over the UNESCO World Heritage site of Cappadocia in Turkey. It’s also the home of pottery and cave dwellers (yup folks who live in caves)! Hike and Sail can plan your trip + stay at the beautiful cave hotel, Sacred House. #3) IMMERSIVE CULINARY COMEBACKS: For the foodies, “The mmm, mmmm, mmmmmm moment”: what better way to connect with a destination and it’s people than through its food? I recently stayed at the new The One Hotel in Barcelona whose chef who took us on a private Spanish culinary journey on their beautiful rooftop overlooking their iconic city. We learned how to make and eat all the traditional foods with twists, like olive oils, sardines, paella, gambas, nougats and let me tell you, Vermouth is delicious and going to make a come back in 2020. #4) THE BLUE MOVEMENT: For ocean lovers + water babies, “The this is EVERYTHING, literally, moment”: Check out Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Encore – there is literally a world of experiences on board. I raced my first go cart on top of the ship, saw a hit Broadway show: Kinky Boots, ate ridiculously delicious food – including my new favorite culinary concept, Onda by Scarpetta. LOVE: The Haven a “ship within in a ship” concept which is such a smart way for folks needing a little privacy, from laser tag and water park on the top deck. But one of the biggest surprises for me, was the world class Virtual Reality gallery. For the record, I’m not a gamer on land so I was skeptical – my fave was hands down the VR submarine crash into the pirate escape room. I can’t wait to play with my friends. In all seriousness, the #NorwegianEncore was a really fun experience, perfect for multi-generational fans, romantic couples, they even have a singles area. The gym had great workout classes + a world class spa. I also appreciate the extensive efforts to eliminate single-use plastic beverage bottles onboard.
