What's Hot in Hotels: YVE Hotel Miami
The hotel’s view of Biscayne Bay and Port of Miami.
As soon as someone mentions the words “hotel” and “Miami,” your brain most lightly goes automatically to South Beach and the glitz, glamour, and…well…floods of tourists that congregate on Ocean Drive every night of the week. Of course there is plenty to love about the vibrant, pulsing heartbeat of the city, but I experienced a different Miami recently. A Miami that I re-fell in love with thanks to Destination Hotel’s own YVE Hotel Miami.
The hotel’s website description is nothing but true: “chic sophistication meets the comforts of home at YVE Hotel Miami.” Even the lobby feels like a home away from home. Each afternoon freshly baked complimentary cookies await guests for a much needed snack post-tanning; each evening the hotel hosts a happy hour, inviting guests to socialize with one another over creative cocktails. The lobby often features interactive art experiences in partnership with Art Bastion, the local Wynwood art gallery. Artists from around the globe (and as close as Miami) are featured in an effort to showcase Miami’s blooming relationship with art.
The YVE Miami is just a few minutes away from the vibrant & colorful Wynwood Walls.
Luxury is found in each of the hotel’s 243 guestrooms and suites, equipped with 42 inch HD LCD television and plush beds. The décor in the hotel is almost exclusively white, maintaining a simplistic yet elegant look throughout. The lighting is bright and cheerful, with large glass windows that look out towards the water or have city views. The 17th floor suite boasts panoramic views of Biscayne Bay.
Speaking of views, the location of the hotel cannot be beat. Situated across the street from Biscayne Bay and The Port of Miami in the midst of the city’s business and financial district, the hotel allows guests to experience a different side of Miami. The festive Bayside Marketplace is just across the street, dually serving as a shopping and restaurant epicenter and an outdoor venue to enjoy local music and, of course, Miami sun rays. Biscayne Bay is the perfect launching point to take a 90-minute sightseeing cruise, which includes incredible views of Millionaires Row and the Miami skyline. The American Airlines Arena, catering to sports and entertainment fans alike, is a stones throw away from the hotel as well.
A ten-minute car ride over the bridge and you are in the glamour of South Beach. A few minutes east and you are smack dab in the midst of the up-and- coming Wynwood, with its color, galleries and street art murals you can get lost in for days. Miami Beach Convention Center, Coral Gables and Coconut Grove are a mere 15 to 20 minutes away by car. The hotel partners with local bike companies should you wish to create your own adventure.
While there is a plethora of restaurants in the walking vicinity of the hotel, guests are encouraged to try one of the extensive food and drink offerings from The Biscayne Tavern’s menu, under the local and organic China Grill Management Group. Located inside the hotel lobby, our personal favorite selections are the Key West Blue Crab Cakes and the local Wynwood IPA. The hotel additionally has 24-hour room service.
The YVE Hotel Miami lights up the city’s downtown.
The hotel’s fitness center overlooks The Port of Miami. Wi-Fi and high-speed Internet access are available throughout the hotel.
